If I understand this correctly, your getting a spark when you put on the negative battery cable after putting in or hooking up your speaker? I believe thats very normal. When you unplug your battery, you cut power to allot of things in your car. When you put your cable back on its just making the connection and sparks because all of your cars electronics are being juiced up again.

Just tighten it.

x100. Your spark is completely normal and has nothing to do with your speaker wires.

Hey, all.

I'm brand new to the forum, but not to cars.

Figure this. The following will draw power from the battery on an almost constant basis:

Clock
Radio Presets
Remote Keyless Entry sensor
Security system
ECU/BCM Computer
Any user settings, such as memory seats.
Anything else that needs to retain power to function right the next time.

So, basically, unless you have a car that is carbureted, has no radio memory, no running clock, and no keyless entry or alarm system, you're going to get a spark, even if its not visible.

My 2 cents.
