2000 SSEi Questions
I am new to the forum and Bonneville ownership. I have a 2000 SSEi that has the usual problems (window regulator, hood paint problems, etc.). I have 2 questions:
1. Is there a factory alarm bypass wire in the car somewhere? It has a remote starter, but if the car is locked and alarm is armed, the horn honks 2-3 times before the car starts, then the DIC says there was an alarm, and service security system. Can this be avoided?
2. When the car is off, it sounds like there is static (very slight) coming through the tweeters in the door. Is this normal?
OK...a third question. Is there a way to hook up parking lights to the remote starter so I can see when it gets the signal? I tried finding a wire that goes + with the lights on, but could not find one.
Thanks for your help.

What Make & Model of Remote Starter are we talking about ? Do you have the Manuals (Install & Owners) for it ?
Answers to your Questions:
1) This depends on if the wire is available in the car & if the Remote Starter has "Factory Arm & Disarm" wires on it.
2) Sounds like a feedback problem, but I'm not sure if this is normal with the newer Bonne'*.
Someone else should be able to answer this.
3) There may not be a Positive Parklight wire in the car, but you can switch the current on the Output wire of the R/* (Remote Starter) with a Relay.
I would be better able to answer these questions if I looked at a wiring diagram for the vehicle.
I will try to find one in the next couple of days for you.

Just thought of another couple of questions....
Are you using 2 remotes, the Remote Starter & the factory keyless ?
Does the Remote Starter Lock & Unlock the doors ?
