OOPS
Believe it or not, the stock stereo blew the right mid woofer in the door. And i paid 310 dollars for those damn things. Am i ever pissed off. If your wondering what the model is, it'* the Infinity Reference 505CS. I plan on replacing them with Alpine Type-R components, probably put the Alpine tweets in the rear or something... What a load of crap when i was JUST about to buy a god forsaken amp because i had the money ready... It'* always something, and things only break down when you are about to buy something else!

the stock deck was probably clipping the power going to the speakers causing them to crap out on you. The thing that kills speakers more than anything else is unclean power. I have Infinity Kappa in my front doors with 80 W RMS going to each one and I haven't had any problems with them at all. That really sucks man. you could have gotten those Infinities for more like around $120 though.. www.ikesound.com

I know that now. I got them at a place in Canada called Future Shop. And after i bought them, the price with tax went down to just under $200. Was i ever mad. I was about to buy an amp for them too, but screw it i'm going to go with the best speakers i can find this time, and if they blow, i think i'm going to take everything out, and set it all on fire. The 6x9'* i bought are still fine, and they are like 3 years old! They have been pushed for 3 years straight too. And these damn components blow after about 4 months of having them!
Is there anyone here with the Alpine Type-R 5 1/4" components? If so, how is there bass response?
