Default Rear Left Speaker Chirp

when i still had the stock 6x9 speakers in my 1993 SE, the rear left one would make a chirping sound like a cricket every now and then. what do yall think that was?
p.*.-I now have Lightning Audio 6x9'* which took care of the problem.

Could have been a couple things - - 1) Voice coil windings might have been a bit loose, causing the noise when the coil "bottomed out" on the magnet or 2) One or both of the voice coil leads was hitting the cone whenever a bass note hit. Only splanations I can think of.

Those are probably right...but I wonder if it coulda maybe been that the speaker wasn't securely mounted to the car. Any design like that where the speaker & mounting is made to be removable from the car body has a probablity of coming loose or not fitting quite right.
