Help me choose!
My old Hx2 is getting tired. I'm going to be upgrading my sub setup soon. I've narrowed my choices down to either a pair of Rockford'* PowerT212D2, or Cerwin Vega'* new 12" stroker. I only have one amp dedicated to my subs. RF Power BD1500.1. Will this be enough power to run a pair of either choice efficienly? Or should I get another amp too? Input is appreciated!

there have been some that have given the T2 1500+ and its been totally happy every day......1000RMS is the least you should ever give that sub
if you go with a T2 Please build the box to teh correct specs

My understanding of RMS is that is the maximum rating (not peak, maximum) that you can drive the speaker at all day long and it will perform great.
Whereas peak is the max monentary amount of power you can drive it at.
By that understanding 1000rms is not the minimum requirement, to me it sounded like you were saying that was the miminum driving power to hand it.

you correct....the RMS is what is recommended for the speaker to handle on a normal basis....now that being said...the T2 is designed to handle ALOT of power....most people that have had the sub have been dissapointed untill they feed it the full 1000 RMS
the sub is desinged to perform its best at 1000RMS

Thanks for clearing that up for me...
We know I'm not a stereo junkie or anything...
Most stuff though..RMS is the max you should run with everyday listening.. cool.

Regaurding the power situation... My amp is rated at 750x1 RMS @ 4 ohms, 1500x1 RMS @ 2 ohms. I plan to get dual 2 ohm subs to get the most power out of that amp.
She might run a little warm, But I think she'* capable of sending each sub 1000w.
...and I've got a ported box right now,
