Default thinking its time for a new sound system

After reading up on the Bose system and how inefficient it really is, I've decided to replace my sound system.

Put these in today. Kicker 3-way speakers on the left stock on the right. New HU,amp, and sub to come!

where do you have 6x9'*? i think i have seperate woofers and tweeters, in the doors and rear deck. ive always wanted to change them, but wife dont want me to mess with it. ive done it in every other car/truck ive had. a good hu/amp/speakers totaly blows away any factory ungrade or bose setup. i usually get clarion stuff and polk speakers.

The bose system uses the 6x9'* as the subs, and I believe has tweeters too.

Did you end up rewiring as well? Pretty sure the Bose system runs the back 6x9'* in series. If you didn't know that already, you will likely find out soon, and want to address it.

if you replace the whole system its not much more work or money to replace the speaker wire, i always do this i think it makes differance in noise. and the factory wiring and connectors are untoched and easy to put back together when you sell it

I just plugged them in to the stock connectors. I just got a pair of door speakers, a head unit, and a 4 channel amp. I plan on rewiring the whole thing.

Nice! You're gonna have the same thing as me (just different brands) when you're done!

Your stock stuff looks better than mine though. When we pulled out all the Monsoon speakers from my 02 it looked like rats had got a hold of them. The surrounds were all falling apart, I'm surprised they could make any kind of noise.
