Im interested in putting neons in my car. Only problem is... I dont know how to wire them and the whole grounding ordeal. Does anybody have pictures or can explain to me how one would wire neons into the cars? From outside of the car to inside the car. Appreciate it.


Also I would like to change the lighting on the door handle lights pointing at my powerlock controls and window controls to blue, How would i do that ?

It should be as simple as finding a power source and grounding it to the chassis.
To change the door lights you will have to remove the lens. I'm not sure if you will have to remove the entire door panel for access. :?

Get with Mr. Light Pollution himself (if you don't know who that is, you need glasses!) for the neons. Any metal chassis location will do. Personally, I'd bring the wires in near the steering shaft or near the glovebox. Wrap well.

You can use standard blue LED'* to replace the door switch illumination. Most will be too bright, so you can play around with your biasing resistor. I suggest using a rheostat or potentiometer in series with the LED to determine the brightness you want, then measure it, and add that value of resistor.

I'm getting up there on lights myself...right now 2 under the dash, 5 in the trunk, colorchange LEDs in the doors, blue LEDs in the courtesy lights in all the doors.....

How I did mine was I relayed all the neons, and have them come on when the interior lights come on. I also put a switch in between the relay and the interior feed wire so I can turn them off w/o affecting the factory lights. I'll draw you up a schematic if that will help you out.
