Default 2000+ Antenna question

Will the FM direct adaptor work on 2000+ radio'* going through the antenna for an XM connection? I am looking for a clean install but with these radio'* I don't know if the antenna plugs in the the bracket the radio sits in or is it hardwired? I did a search but couldn't find anything. Thanks.

as far as i know there is no place for anything to plug in-line with the antenna, if that is the device you are talking about. The antenna connector is secured to the inner dashboard, and plugs into the radio when the unit is slid into the slot. It might be possible to fit the cables and whatever else is needed into the back of the radio if you were to un clip the antenna lead and let it back down into the dash area somewhere, keep in mid that the car uses a VW style antenna connector, not the standard GM one!

Could you provide us a link to the unit you are talking about for a possilbly more complete answer?

I have the antenna adapter cable kit. This is what I am going to try to install if it is possible.

ok, that is what i thought you were talking about, as i said before, you will have to remove the radio, then un-clip the OEM antenna from the inner dash area, and the cables may or may not fit, because there is not a whole lot of room in back there. I bet youll be able to make it work just fine if you tuck the wires down a bit.

Well its done. The antenna was a pain, had to get a VW style adaptor and remove the plastic clip on the back of the housing. Looks good, no wires showing thanks again for your help.
