Anybody have this handy?

What I'm looking at doing is modding a CD changer cable or iPod interface adapter to just get some simple RCA or 3.5mm input somewhere in the dash area.

I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anything on pinout.

Is the changer connection separate, or is it integrated with the dock n lock connector?

The CD changer connections are part of a separate harness in the trunk. If you don't have a CD changer, you don't have the harness. If you don't have the changer, you don't have the connections in the Dock-N-Lock connector for 2002. Also, the wires themselves are only a part of the picture. The Class 2 Serial bus is used to enable the appropriate audio source (radio, tape, CD, CD changer, etc.) since they all use the same three wires.

What is the big picture of what you want to do? It may be easier to give assistance when we know the end game.

To try to answer your question, basically what I'm wanting to do is, rather than spend $80 to put in an aftermarket deck, plus a steering wheel adapter, plus maybe an amplifier bypass adapter, totalling God knows how much, I thought it'd be easier to buy a changer cable, cust most of it off, leaving a few inches on the end, hacking off most of the wiring, save left and right audio signals, soldering those to the other end of one of those iPlug connectors, and sticking that to the side of my center console, making a nice, tidy "anything" input in a 3.5mm headphone format.

Is that making sense? Sorry if it'* vague. It makes sense in my head.

That way, I'm still on my stock system, but I hit the AUX button and I've got my Zune, with presumably a better sound quality than would be afforded me by an FM modulator.

As far as adding the pins, that would be AWESOME.

First - there is no specific "changer cable" you can buy that will do the job. You can make one though (it is easier than what you described that you would do with it if you could buy one).
Second - you need to find a way to get your car'* computer to send the right command over the Class 2 Serial bus so that you can select the Zune as the audio source. (The class 2 Serial bus is GM'* version of the USB connections your computer has. There are specific protocols for various commands and communication standards.) I recommend the PAC AUX-BOX to get the aux input. Yes it will cost about $70 but it should provide the best solution (IMO) because it will emulate the serial communication of a CD Changer and provide RCA outputs that can be used for many different inputs.

I can assist with which wires go where as well as the pins for the Dock-N-Lock connector.

There are other ways to trick the serial bus that would eliminate the need to use the adapter. They involve opening up the radio and adding wires. I personally don't like that solution, but others have had success. They may chime in. . .

Totally forgot about the aux box. You're right in that it'* an expenditure, but as you stated, it'll be a lot cleaner.

Like you, I have no interest at all in ripping apart my deck. I'd hate to render a several hundred dollar stock deck useless in an amateur attempt at hacking circuitry.

I'd love any other info you've got or advice.

When you get the Aux-Box, PM me and I'll pass the word on how to hook it up as well as sending you the pins for the connector. It should be pretty simple. The hardest part is getting behind the dash to get to the wires. . .
