New Bonneville owner needs help with stock stereo
I have an 89 Bonneville LE with a stock Delco AM/FM Cassette. I want to remove the stock stereo to upgrade to my Kenwood, but for the life of me cannot find out how to remove it. According to the internet, there should be 3 screws removed after removing the woodgrain dash panel, and the stereo should slide out. That is not true. Under the woodgraid panel, I see no screws related to the stereo at all. Can someone help me get this stereo out of the dash. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

87-91 has a very supportive mounting bracket. Along with the 3-4 screws that are very easy to see after removint the trim, there are two tabs equally spaced from center that holds the bottom in. I usually use a small screwdriver or similar tool and push upward on the tabs fron the ashtray opening. Once these are released, the radio will fall right out.
