Default Infinity Basslink(it'* going to be fixed!)

I just got my Infinity Basslink installed last night. Installation took me right around an hour to complete. The sound of the basslink is very unlike most other subwoofers. It isn't overpowering bass, it just seems to be a filler for bass. What I mean, is it sounds very natural and integrated into the vehicle and compliments the rest of the factory system. It doesn't sound out of place because of too much bass. If you want a bass heavy system this isn't for you. BUT, if you're looking for a high fidelity, SQ subwoofer this may be for you. It has nice sounding bass reproduction. I can however tell you that if you have a 2000+ Bonneville the headunit has GOT to go. The stock GM headunits (including the Aurora, LeSabre, and Bonneville) all have an excessive bass boost at low volumes and then reduced bass at higher volumes meaning that with the basslink, or any subwoofer, the bass is overpowering at low volumes but if you turn the volume up a fair amount the bass becomes almost non existant. The stock headunit has GOT to go. The sound quality from it is horrible (the stock cd player.) the sound is very... dull from the DELCO cd player.

anyway, here are some of the pictures of the Basslink. Notice how little trunk space it takes up. Its sound is comparable to about one 10 inch pioneer subwoofer. it'* not too bad for how small it is. The basslink also has a built in amp.

"real" subs aren't overpowering if they're setup correctly. But everyone likes to hear bass.

guess I spoke too soon. Last night I got into my car to smell a bad burning smell. The freaking thing BURNED up overnight! The fuses never blew on either the basslink, or the power wire, yet it will not turn on or anything. It is getting power but it smells really bad like electrical burning. I don't know what to do now, I got it on Ebay and it said it was brand new on the auction and they said they require a receipt of a professional installer installing it for me for them to cover it. Where can I get this thing repaired at?!

Something'* not right if the fuse blew....

You may be SOL, repairing may cost more then a "new" one. Kinda the risk you run on ebay...

I'm really kicking myself right now because I got it for $240 but on cardomain they now offer free shipping on it so it would have been $300 WITH a warranty. :( It'* getting harder and harder to find good stuff on ebay I swear. To ship this one back for repair would be $70 when it'* all said and done. Tack on the repair bill and it'd probably be $200 just to fix this thing. Forget it. I really just don't understand what was wrong with it in the first place. Bad amp or what?
