Ah yeah. Thanks.

So I called PAC, and they said they don't have a specific adapter for OnStar/Bose/RDS radios.

Bummer. Ah well. Wasn't using OnStar anyway.

Which radio did he replace with that groovy Kenwood? Was in a "Monsoon" deck? I guess more importantly, did it have RDS. Just trying to make sure I get the right adapter.

Although I guess the easier question is, does anyone have an '02 SSEi with an aftermarket deck with all of the factory controls working like they did?

There is no specific adapter for RDS. As long as the new radio is RDS capable you don't need to have anything else.

I wasn't using On* either so that'* why I didn't bother with it.

Edit: Besides, unless you own a 2005 or newer, you On* is probably going to be useless next year anyway :?

Still running the stock speakers and BOSE amp right now. I did add a 10" MTX Blue Thunder and Profile 400 watt amp I've had laying around in the garage for the past couple of years. Sounds good enough to get my through the summer

Not to get off topic, but I just had my '04 GXP upgraded. OnStar has an upgrade program for many 2003 and newer vehicles (vehicles are VIN specific and the '03 Bonneville may or may not be upgradeable). My dealer did the hardware swap and now I'm dual mode. Detail are at

http://www.onstar.com/us_english/jsp.../faq_popup.jsp

The cost is a one year non-transferable, non-refundable subscription to any one of the OnStar plans, plus a $15.00 hardware fee and applicable taxes.

Just a consideration if you are upgrading your audio equipment.

I slept on it and yup I'm going to join you on the kenwood double din
I like the built in pre amp and options like sirus radio, usb port and multi color display

Took your advice and got the hu from best buy along with the sirus kit.
Do I need anything to use the ipod option or is the usb port enough?

Got everything else off ebay, almost 550 total for everything including shipping.
Now time for some amps and speakers

edited for price, checked my paypal today

The Kenwood has an RCA input on the rear of it that you can use for the iPod. Just get an RCA to headphone jack cable. You can also use the USB port on the front, but you have to control the songs through the Kenwood and the interface isnt' that great without the iPod adapter. You can only scroll song by song, not by artist, album, or anything like that. You can plug a flash drive into it though.

I'm glad I took the chance and put my double din in first, it'* great to see others persuing it now!

The USB port works with most flash drives but only a couple of MP3 players. I lucked out with my iRiver 20GB MP3 player. It works awesome through the USB. Through the HU I can browse by artist, song and genre
