Default 1997 bonneville new head unit help

OK, you may find this pretty dumb, but I tried to install a new head unit into my car (it'* a phase linear PCD163. crappy, but better than the factory unit). it gets power and the actual head unit works, but no sound from any of the speakers. Do I need to get another part or am I just being retarded? Any help would be appreciated.

head unit was brand new. not running any amps. maybe that'* my problem? I wasn't too sure if the old delphi delco stereo had an amp built into it, so that'* always a possibility. anyway, I'm having a guy look at it to see what was wrong and if i need to pay some extra cash (which I don't want to).

i dont think you have any factory amps in that car, could be wrong but dont think the delco had em. but also might make sure the anttena is plugged in to. i havent seen it recently but in my past a couple times that has fixed it(not sure what brand it was cuz of how long ago) its worth a shot other wise you can take it out, hook the red and yellow wires up to a car battery and then the ground, then hook uo a speaker to one of the outputs. it should work then, its just a quick way to check it out while bypassing any of the cars wiring. if it works then you know the cd player is good and then can move onto the next step in figuring it out

ok. i figured it out. just so happens that there are about three yellow wires, three dark green wires, three light green wires, and two grey wires. just a matter of sitting down and figuring out where they all go to. after 3 hours of following wires all around my car, i got it all working.
