Default Hood release cable

Anybody knows how to remove (replace) the hood release cable? The biggest problem is the grommet at the firewall. I have the feeling that it must be rotated until something aligns with a notch.

Thank you

Don AKA jr's3800 is your man to talk to, He has replaced the hood release on one of his Bonnevilles

but the grommet just pushes out no need to twist anything
