Gonna get some 5.25s soon.
Well, as the title says, I'm going to replace the stock components. I was wondering, will I have a problem with the wiring of the new speakers if I decide not to get some components and just some regular 5.25s? If any of you have done this could you show me how you wired it up to the new speakers. I would appreciate it. Pics would help too.

Go to a car audio store (Best Buy, Curcuit City, Ultimate Electronics, etc...) and ask for speaker wire adapters. This way you won't have to cut your stock connection in case you decide to sell the car with the original equipment. Makes installation a snap.

Speakers are so cheap, and the stocks are so worthless that you shouldn't feel bad snipping the wires/harness off the old speakers and using them with your new speakers.
You won't need pictures to do the install...it'* really self explanatory. There is only one set of wires that goes to the speakers, so you can't mess it up. ANYONE could probably replace the 5.25"'*, even first timers.
The hardest part is being CAREFUL when you're taking the interior part of the door off. When you get all the bolts/screws/nuts whatever off and are ready for removal, be very careful or you will crack the weak, long black piece that holds the top of the interior of the door to the door itself. It'* the hard black piece, almost 1cm wide that runs along where the window goes into the door on the interior side. You'll see what I mean when it comes apart. It'* a pressure fit, so it'll take some force...just be careful.
The new speakers will screw into the same place as the old, and should line up exactly. You'll want to make sure to use the 8 small metal clips that come with the screws in with your new speakers. The small metal clips slip onto the screw holes of the speaker and makes it so that when the speakers is secured it doesn't slide down the small spacing post that the screw goes into. You'll also see exactly what I mean when you get to that point. There'* no right or wrong way to make it work as long as it works.
Really, it'* all very EASY. Allow yourself AT LEAST 45 minutes for the first door. The 2nd door is always faster, no matter what setup.[/u]
