Any stereo store will sell you the kit for the GM radios. The last one I did had the storage slot for cd'* below the deck to use the extra room. Nice to have SOMETHING there.

Is it hard to take the dash apart to get to the head unit. I just got one along with an amp to push my subs.

Yup. Exactly what you want. Good price, too. I paid 15 for mine the last time I bought one....at a local audio outlet.

Taking the stereo out is a snap. Literally. The trim panel around the stereo, climate control, and IP just unsnaps. Work your way around the edge carefully. You may have to unplug the bass control if your car has it. The stock radio is held in with either 3 or 4 screws......or is it 2 screws and 2 pins? And slides out on a rail kinda like a drawer guide in your nitghtstand or dresser. Pretty slick setup, actually. One of the easiest you'll ever do.

That'* good cause in my Olds I had to unscrew the whole dash, it sucked. So it the plastic around the head unit just pulls off, or snaps off. Sounds easy enough. O 1 more thing I'm gona put my amp in myself where do I run say the battery cable to the amp to, how would I do it?

Has anyone put their own amp in, and if you did, can you give me some advice to how im suppose to get the 8 gauge power cable thru the firewall, is their any holes or anything??? The instructions said I would have to drill a 1/2 inch hole and put it thru the firewall, but wouldn't their be stuff in the way. LOL I just need help.

just in case you havent found your anser, ill bring this topic up again. to drill the hole through the firewall just get inside the car on the passenger side and drill it after youve pulled the carpet back, making sure there is nothing thats going to be damaged.

just make sure the theft control is off, otherwise you will need the code to put it in another car. I took my dash apart to take apart the radio, its about a 30-60 min job. I used a screwdriver to pop it off on the left side by the drivers door. After that you can use your fingers. Will, mine has 3 screws (just for reference)
