yes and no. Truck boxes are normally very skinny and tall so they fit behind the seat. It probably wont fit well in the trunk.
Why are you thinking of going ported? (just curious as sealed can be made so much smaller)

ported boxes have a deeper bass but at the sacrafice of Sound quality. You can mount a truck box in your trunk. You just need to make sure that the sub you run requires the amount of airspace that the box provides. Maybe you should look into a slim subwoofer Elemental Designs and Pioneer make them. But honestly, even a large ported 10 box wont take up much trunk space in a bonneville

if you want it deeper, i would personally go with a 12" in a sealed box instead of a 10" ported. your average 12" sealed box is going to be right around 1-1.5cu.ft. which is pretty small
whats your budget? how loud do you want it to be? how good sound quality are you looking for?

I was told many moons ago that sealed enclosures are ideal for trunks, while ported enclosures are good for hatchbacks. I *was* working on a single 12 enclosure that uses the space in the trunk on the driver side, and so far is comming out pretty good, and lightweight since half of it is fiberglass.

ported boxes can have some sound quality to it depending on how you tune the box and at what frequency (Port lenth) Usually this is determined by the type of sub your building the box for and its recommended box size in order for the sub to work at optimum performance.
Sealed boxes usually produce better sound quality but usually require more power fromt the amp to run them. Dont get me wrong. You dont need 20 thousand watts to run a sealed versus a ported, but the sound waves that the sub produces are very different between the two box setups.
If you listen to rap and club and the like, then go ported. If you listen to rock, metal, and the like then go sealed.

Very few 10 inch subs can handle a 1000 Watts.
What you want to do is find out what sub you want to buy to fit your budget.
Usually Dual Voice coils are best since they can be configured differently for different amplifiers.
Once you find out what type of sub your going to buy, you want to use the Voice coil information and the RMS power handling of the sub to make your amp purchase so that your not overpushing your sub or overdirving your amp.
