Now yes im aware that the CD changer was not available as a dealer installed option....so that means that either you had the Changer from the factlry or you were screwed.....

BUT there might be hope............

i have found that the Part number for the Delco Factory 12 CD dics changer is 25708970, with a Pioneer model number of CDX-M1026zg

NOW i may have located a part number for the Cabel that interfaces the CD changer and the Radio

i have found a cable that works with the Buick and Olds....
It has a Part number of 12494003<------- can anyone confirm that part number for me, to see if its the actuall one that will worK???

I don't know if you want to go this option or if you are trying to reproduce the a direct connection like factory, but have you thought of going with an RF (Radio Frequency) Changer.
The only thing with that is that you would have a little screen mounted on the dash.
JVC and some other companies make some good RF Changers.

I found one on eBay a while back and Jimmy Floyd (I think it was him, it'* been a while) said he hooked it up to either a newer SSEi or an Aurora (what do his parents drive?) and the wiring was already there.

Here'* what I can tell you. I had a 2002 SE without the factory 12 disc changer and also wanted to add it. I was able to purchase the changer and a GM install kit for a 2001 Bonneville which included the metal bracket, the wiring harness and the replacement trim piece for the trunk with the cutout for the changer. If you give me a couple of days, I have the receipt with the part number at home and can post it.

Because the 2000+ head units all wire pretty much the same (as far as the audio inputs from the changer), you should only need to make minor modifications to the install kit harness, if any at all. The biggest challenge I had was wiring it into the vehicle. These decks use the Dock-N-Lock connectors and since my '02 didn't come with this option, the wiring from the connector which mates the head unit to the inline body harness connector where this cable would normally attach didn't exist. I was able to track down some of the Delphi connector terminals required to do this and I was therefore able to connect the supplied wiring harness straight into the vehicle side of the Dock-N-Lock connector the same as all the other stereo connections.

This install kit harness connects +12VDC, Ground, Left Audio, Right Audio, Audio Common and two links into the Class 2 Serial Data bus (which is how the head unit talks with the changer). A connector on the harness plugs into the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) which is located in the trunk, left upper side behind the rear seat back. The connector which would have originally been plugged into the RCDLR now plugs into this new disc changer harness and is how the connection is made for the +12VDC, ground and links to the Class 2 Serial Data bus. This portion of the install was just plug and play. Next, is the audio connections. The only change you may have to make might be the terminals on the audio side of the harness so you can plug it in to the vehicle side of the head unit connector.

Having pulled much of my hair out in the past trying to accomplish this, I'm sure I can send you my remaining 3 or 4 terminals for the Dock-N-Lock as I no longer need them. This would be sufficient to get this up and running for you. With a soldering iron and a little heat shrink tubing this should make installation fairly painless. If you are not a technical person, this would also make it quite easy for a local audio shop to do. I can certainly provide additional direction if required.

I feel for those suffering the frustrations of adding additional factory options. I have just successfully completed the addition of the factory XM radio components to my '04 GXP. Something GM assured me couldn't be done!

yeah, I have the CD changer here. No cable or magazine though. my mother decided not to use it in her impala and I had it sitting here for a while. It is actually being packaged up and sent out to another member tomorrow.

Sorry for the off-topic, but my brother may have a new changer for the 00+ Bonneville as I know he stocks quite a few OEM changers.
If he has one I know it'll be alot less than the dealer and abit less than GMPD, and he also stocks the cartridges.

Back on topic (and on the phone with brother), the part # 12494003 is not the correct harness. He doesn't have the correct one or seen one, but has never looked for one. He is going to check with his supplier and I can get back to you by tomorrow with his findings.
