considering an aftermarket head unit?
a week ago I needed the wiring harness and antenna adapter and I went to pep boys- it was cheaper than best buy but still pretty high (about $12 each) for both. well yesterday while my old lady was returning something at TARGET i was in the automotive section buying some NXT wax and saw a few car audio items. one of the things there was a stereo installation kit for 74 and up GM cars- $15 or $16 and it came with BOTH the correct harness and the antenna adapter. even if the mounting part of the kit dosent work its worth buying for the harnesses alone.

CarDomain'* store throws in a dash kit and wiring harness for free with every HU purchase as well...pretty good deal really, and their prices arent too bad to start with.

I got lucky... Saturday night on a lark, I decided to get my new pioneer unit. Best Buy happened to be running a sale, so I wound up with a Pioneer DEH-6700MP for 199 with free install and $18 (total) for both the harness, adapter, and the standard GM in dash mount kit. I'm ordering a new in dash kit from humounts in a bit, but otherwise Im pleased with the performance, and quality of the unit.

That is the exact kit that I just used in my '94, from Target. Got it on sale for $9.99.
Couldn't beat that price, for what you get. I did have to figure out the mounting bracket on my own, which wasn't too difficult when I put the factory unit alongside.
The wiring harness adapters worked well, too!

Is it a Metra product at Target? That is a good product. We have them at Autozone. Best kits and harnesses out there in my experiance, 9 years+

I do believe its metra (packaging, instructions, etc, looks exactly like metra kits I have used in the past) , packaged as "american international" and reboxed for Jensen, then sold thru Target stores.
