I wired my stereo system myself, and ive done about 4 since ive had a car and they've all been pretty decent. Recently in my bonne, whenever i take sharp turns and gas it even ever so lightly, the bass will just stop working.. and in order to get it back and working i turn off the head unit, let it stay off for about 30 seconds and turn it back on and its fine until it happens again. I checked the ground and re soldered the power connection because that was flimsy but now its excellent, but it still does it!! What does this sound like to you guys?

did you use the stock wiring for the speakers? are the speakers amped? what else is in your system? have you checked all the wires on the sub amp? back of the box? anything conductive rolling around in your trunk? how does your sub setup get its signal?

I had a problem like that, but everything would stop working. It turned out when I hit bumps or turned sharp, the metal from the speakers were touching metal from the car that was grounded.

With aftermarket, if one speaker is grounded or not working, the whole system does not work.

thats the thing, the stock wiring for the speakers are the ones connected but they dont shut off..(nor are they amped) just the power to the amp is like "disconnected" or so it seems.. the sub/ amp is the only things that arent working when it happens. ive checked all amp connections, fuses, positive batter connetion, back of sub box, theyre all fine. the weird thing is it will work again (sometimes) right away if i just shut off and turn on the head unit.
thinks its some wiring behind that..?

is your remote wire chaffed somewhere alone its run, causing it to touch ground and the possibility that the HU goes into protection?

I've had 1 strand of a 4ga wire go astray and cause some wierd ****...yeas 1 28ga or w/e size it was strand. It could be a lot of things, doesn't take much.

Is this an aftermarket Sub & Amp ?

The best thing I can suggest is, next time this happens that it cuts out, don't turn off the deck or the car, pull over and look at the amp see if the power light is still on if it is then you know that its your signal (RCA'* or signal feed) if the Amp is off then, its a power problem either the Remote turn on lead or the Power or Ground.
