Default Bose monsoon system trouble

I posted a while back about this problem kind of just let it run its course. the system in my car would work for a week or two then without notice stop working for a week or two. Well now im rteally tired of it. I bought a brand new factory radio (2002 SSEI) the radio turns on when the system worked the display would read Bose then Monsoon and when the system doesnt work the radio still looks like it turns on display only reads Bose and there is no sound at all. Im assuming the amp isnt turning on due to possibly a loose wire or a bad amp. I have a wiring diagram of the audio system. It has an amplifier present wire (purple) and a radio on signal wire (pink). which wire sends a signal to the amp to turn it on and is it a constant voltage (stays on when radio is on) or is it like a switch that just turns the amp on. In either case what should the voltage be? I tested both and got nothing. Next i will be going to the HU harnes to see if i get anything there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Need tunes!!! Thanks
