Default What to wire my Radar detector to?

My wire broke right at the cig plug. I'd like to hardwire it.
I was thinking about the map lights but I think it would stay on all the time. I want it to turn off when the car is off.

Whats my options?

I wired mine to the radio. That way it turns on when I turn on the car, and off when I leave.

hmmmm I didn't think about that.

But I'd like to put it at the top of the windshield. I'll have to keep that in mind though, thanks

That'* easy, run the wire threw the A-pillar, just tuck it in. I have a lot of wires running threw mine.

Orange or Brown in the ignition harness is your accessory. Tap into one of those.

He wouldn't even need to do that.

Passenger A-pillar, about halfway up...should be the connector that provides power to the sunroof. You should have it regardless if you have sunroof or not. Power is available with ignition on.

How do I get the A-piller covers off?
I started to pull and it poped and sounded like a clip broke off I left it alone after that.

Very carefully.

Seriously. There are two white tab/clips on the backside of each trim piece. They are very brittle BTW. You will need a skinny, long flatblade screwdriver to pop them out of the sheet metal. No biggie if you break them...they all get broke, sooner or later.

If I break them where do I get new ones from? Please don't tell me the dealer.
