O.K. so back in the day i remember Eclipse being a top of the line thumpin speaker, So how are they now?

eclipse are not exactly what i would consider top of the line, but as far as readily available retail equipment - you cant really beat their headunits - they make great sounding and loud subs - i can only imagine that the speakers would still be nothing but very good quality, especially if you buy one of the component set-ups, but it has been a while since i have heard anything, and there is a lot of preference involved

yah i really do not know much about speakers but my headunit now versus my clarion proaudio headunit (which was a great headunit), there is no comparison at all. Eclipse blows it out of the water, but personally I have not dealt with their speakers.

I don't know about speakers, but my uncle'* Eclipse head unit is one of the best I've ever seen, and his Eclipse subs are da bomb.

I was thinkin about getting a pair of Eclipse 12" or being cheap and going to wallmart and getting a set of 12" Sony'* and a Sony 1000 Watt Amp, not sure yet.

Well, from what I've seen, Eclipse is definitely not going cheap.

I will agree that the speakers are crap. I did have the silver-faced MP3 player (FX-770MP I think it was, or something similar to that number) and that was the first Sony headunit I actually liked. The electronics are great for entry level systems, but stay away from the speakers.
