Anybody install speakers in rear doors on 92-99?
Hello,
I was thinking of maybe installing a set of speakers in the rear doors of the car so that the rear passengers can have a little bit better sound (yes, I think of them too), and maybe in the future, when cash permits, install subwoofers in the current rear deck 6x9 positions.
Anyhow, I was wondering if anybody has done such an installation before, and if they could give details and pictures of the installation? One of my concerns is, what are the largest diameter and deepest baskets I can install? Also, does anybody know how I can remove the rear door panel (seems to be plenty of info out there on removing the front panels) and the B-pillar trim piece, so that I can route the wiring?
Thanks a lot for any information!
Regards,
Stoopid

yes, the previous owner of my car had cut out openings for some 5x7'* in the carpeted area on the top portion of the doors. looks good and a perfect spot for some added sounds. seems to be plenty of space behind the opening, so any average speaker basket should be fine, its pretty much an empty area behind the door panel. will take pics once i go out and buy some bateries for my El-Cheapo digi cam.

In the next few months I'm hoping to go crazy with my stereo. I want to cut the back doors, pull the 6x9'* out of the back and mount them there. Then I want to have the back (where the 6x9'* were) cut out for 2 JL 8" subs. I have a guy up north that does custom body work on older t-birds who said it shouldn't be a "big problem...but definately fun". He seems confident that it can be done. If you haven't started by then I'll post pictures.
