after marker radio install
How dumb would i be if i thought i could do the install myself because the aftermarket came with instructions? i mean really... it cant be that hard. What problems would i face, except for the fact i would have to go and buy the kit fot it. I was going to go to circuit city and do it, but just seems like for all that money Im throwing at them. I could try this out myself. Just wondering your suggestions and advice.. thanks

Being an 01, your install isn't as straight forward as pre 00, but it'* not impossible. Many have done it. Search around here and you will find adapters to the databus setup, and others that have run all new wires.

The install isn't really harder then an early model, but you have to get a specific adaptor. Your hookups on the car are more like computer ribbon then a normal wires into connector.
Other then that the most i've had to do for a headunit install is cut away some random plastic behind a stereo (in a firebird) and mount the fit kit and radio.
If you don't have them already you'll want either a crimping kit, or a soldering iron + heatshrink (this is a very nice touch, not much more money either). Then you'll be able to do other wiring as well around the car.

I like it allot, i got the JVC KD-AVX2 on ebay for $350. There are so many features on this thing and allot of room to spend more money on things i dont need.
