I tried using some foam posterboard to make a sort of cutout bracket to mount the 4 inch rounds i have from my old car into the Bonnes 4x6 stock location in the front. I only did this to the front driver side door, and it did not seem sturdy enough for my liking. Is there any brackets made specifiaclly for this purpose? I would attempt to make them out of wood, but i do not have the proper tools. I didnt put the door back together completely yet becuase 1) I still cant get the rod for the power lock back into the lock part that you can see slide, and 2) it seems like every time i put all the clips in around the door panel, removing them will damage them and make them weaker.

and you have 4x6'* in there?

well i didnt measure them but they sure arent round speakers, and i doubt they are 5x7'* (pretty sure thats ford only), and the width of them is exactly the same as my 4 inch round speaekrs. its a 92 se if that makes a difference and they dont have a seperate tweeter.

I've never seen anything other than these

without the 6x9 of course.

the ones im putting in look like the first picture (4 inich round). the ones in the second picture are what were in the stock location (4x6) except they were not 3 way like the ones you have pictured. Actually the second picture looks more like 6x9'*. Also the frame on the 4x6'* is square, not rounded like the second picture you posted.

I'm not quite understanding but I think I have a good idea. What your doing is putting a 4" round speaker into where I have my 6x9 here



But the plastic isn't sturdy enough for your liking? And your wanting something to beef it up?

well the stock speakers in my door panel mount from behind the panel. I tried making a mounting bracket (cut a peice 4x6, then knifed a hole into it to fit the 4 inch round speaker) but i didnt feel that it was sturdy enough.I would actually like to mount the speaker how you have yours now that io see it. Got a tutorial?
