Aftermarket stereo blows fuse

Aftermarket stereo blows fuse
I'm trying to install an aftermarket radio, have a GMRC-04 wire harness that says it is for 2000-2005 bonneville. As soon as I connect the radio the fuse blows, this is with the key off. Help please!

you sure you got the wires connected right? check the orange and yellow wire coming from the stereo.
when you plug your wire harness to the car without the stereo plugged in dose it still blow?
and one last thing.. what kind of car is it??

02 Bonneville, yes yellow and orange are correct. Does not blow fuse with just wireharness connected, but as soon as radio is connected it blows the fuse.

check and make sure that the wires from the car, match where they plug into the adapter plug you bought.
like the 12v constant wire "orange" coming from the car might be going to the ground in the stereo wire harness or something like that.
and is this a new stereo? strange for this to be happening. for this to be happening the orange constant wire has to be hooked up wrong or something in the stereo is shorted out, because that is the only wire powered up with the key off.

cut all of your wires between the radio and harness. Then just connect the constant wire. Do not plug it into the back of the radio, and plug it in. Do this to isolate the problem. If it doesnt blow plug it into the back of the radio and If the fuse still blows, then we will take it from there. I have a few other ideas of how to fix it if that is the problem. the first being replace it for a new one... Lol! I will look for your response and we will go from there. p.*- chances are it is the aftermarket radio since it didnt happen with your factory radio installed

OK, I may be an idiot, but maybe someone else can learn from this. I had the wire harness upside down. In my defense, it slides in very easy the wrong way and takes some effort to connect it the correct way. Thanks for all the responses, live and learn.
