Default Question on Steering Wheel Controls for Radio

I have a 92 SSEi. The CD player is no longer working, so all I have is radio. I would like to buy a new unit to put in place of stock. My Bonneville also has the steering wheel radio controls, with this effect my ability to install a different stereo (assuming I would like to continue using the steering wheel controls)?

as long as your new head unit has a remote you can buy a PAC SWI-X, it sends the commands from the steering wheel buttons to the radio through a remote signal, and you can prgoram what each steering wheel button does meaning it doesnt have to be the same thing the button says
