Speaker Upgrade
I'm upgrading my front speaker to these Sony Xpolds. I started to look at the technical specs of the factory speaker and the Sony. The sony has a peak power of 160S and rated power of 35w. The impedances is 4 ohms. The Delco speaker is also 4 ohms, but I don't know what kind of wattage it had.

Not sure what the wattage is on the Stocker... I replaced mine several years back with those Explods... Mine are 3 way and I also went ahead and used the stock tweeters as well.. I haven't heard a lot of good about the Sony'* but I have had no issues as I wanted to keep the stock 7 Band EQ CD Player... I have had no issues..
I also yanked the plastic rings from the old stockers and used a little RTV and glued them onto the Sony'* and later installed them in the door panel...
For what they are they sound good... And the Factory head unit does a good job powering them

I pulled my stock speakers and put some Infinity Reference 130wts in the front and Pioneer 180wts in the rear. I also have 2 12" 1250wt Infinity Reference subs in the trunk with a 2 channel 1200wt amp. All powered by a Pioneer Premier CD/DVD/TV tunner head unit. I still have to get another amp for the speakers, but this current setup if WAY better sounding than the stock system. Infinity'* are some real good sounding speakers.
