Default I want a stock radio

Anyone have a factory radio for a 2000+ ssei. I will trade this pioneer for a good working factory radio. Or give me a price to buy it from you.

I agree. That is the best place for a factory stereo for your car. I cant find one for my Riviera, but, I did find a good working CD player for my Bonneville though. So, that I think ebay is the best place for finding the stereo for your Bonnie. Good luck!

The 2000 MY is Bose (for the car in question) but this doesn't really matter. The head unit is the same. The head unit is the same from 2000-2005 with the following notes:

Depending on vintage there is an AM/FM/Cassette, AM/FM/CD and AM/FM/CD/Cassette.
In 2003 there is a change from the "AM/FM" button to "BAND" for support of XM radio.
In 2004 there was the introduction of black versus gray buttons.

2000-2001 Have a Bose amp in the SSEi, no external amp in the SE or SLE.
2002-2003 Have a Monsoon amp in the SSEi, no external amp in the SE or SLE.
2004-2005 Have a Monsoon amp in the GXP, no external amp in the SE or SLE.

And then of course there'* one GXP out there with the Bose Luxury amp and Touch Screen navigation radio

Grand Prix radios will not mount or work correctly in the 2K+ Bonneville, nor will pre-2K Bonneville radios.

Havent forgot password just been busy. ddadler is correct that I need a ssei radio from a 00 or 01. I already bought one that looked exactly like the one that is suppose to work only to find that the plug was completely different. I was just hoping that one of you fellow ssei guys would have your stocker and want to get rid of it.

You could in fact use one from any of those years. The only things to keep in mind is that in 2004/2005 you're looking at black buttons that won't match your other controls. Any radio with the BAND button will still work. It will switch between AM/FM but without the additional (external) XM receiver module installed you just won't see the option for satellite radio.

As you mentioned, the big factor here is the Dock-n-Lock connector on the back. This limits you to a Bonneville radio. There are a couple of other vehicles that use this connector, and the radio would likely work, but they would be a terrible match for the interior.

Don't forget you'll also need to take it to the dealership for a VIN Relearn. These radios can only be unlocked with a Tech 2 scan tool.
