Default Adding a second Battery, myth vs fact, whats the right way to do it

So in BlackBetty'* 2010 Impala we r installing 2 12" Pioneer Premier Champion Pro'* and a MA Audio HK2000D amp... we will be doing the big three upgrade and adding a kinetic powercell.

there r alot of mis imformation outthere... on how to add a second battery in the trunk, should a isolator be used? how do u wire it? I gathered a bunch of info a while ago, because i was going to throw a yellowtop in my trunk, but i forgot the info and got conflicting info...
I know there r people here that have done it (John), is a quick write up possible?

Looks good to me. My preference is two identical batterys, of the same age and no isolator is needed. Trucks have been doing it fro years without one. Not sure but I believe using wire grounds and chassis grounds also helps interference noise to a min.

Default Twin batteries.

Isolating the trunk battery is a good idea if you are going to run a megapower system for any length of time without running the engine. If that is the case a leisure battery may suit your needs better. Twin batteries are nothing new, my '79 Olds diesel had them, some MGs had two 6 volt batteries in series either side of the steering column.
One thing to consider, is the alternator up to coping with the load.
Battery size is determined by the starter motor load, alternator size by the demands of the electrical system (ignition, lights, A/C, awesome stereo etc).
