Default 2001 bonneville ribbon style harness having aftermarket radio problem

ok so ive got the schosche gm07b adapter harness and a Sony XAV-60 double din unit.

now it has i think 3 grounds on the speaker side and one on the radio side
i hooked them all together and to the ground for the stereo harness.

next there are two yellow memory wires on the ribbon adapter i hooked together and into the yellow memory wire on stereo harness

i continued to hook the wires from the ribbon adapter to the radio harness with their respective matching wires.

now for my problems.

first of all the red switched power that makes my stereo turn on has absolutely no power but when i plug factory stereo in it comes on and works.
i spent hours trying to find a power that stays on like the stereo would after key was off and out for a short time and be powered on ign acc.
as of right now i have a stupid toggle switch to turn my stereo on.

also i hooked the ribbon adapters orange dimmer wire to the radio'* orange dimmer wire and it works backwards the stereo dims when gauge lights are on and brightens when they are off and doesn't gradually dim or brighten with the **** control

next issue is i was under assumption the steering wheel adapter wasnt too bad to do but some say it is. my ribbon adapter has 6 brown wires im assuming go to the 6 switches on my steering wheel. so is it worth my time and $ to do it or just get aftermarket steering wheel?..

and last of all i cannot find any trim surround dash kit to fit as the double din stereo itself it almost too big for the oem trim surround and its mounted flush just has gaps on the sides and is tight in the corners

The Steering wheel controls are based off of the Ohm load on a single wire and you have to tap it from underneath the steering wheel. Then there is a programming sequence in which you press each button in a certain order and the module learns the buttons Ohm load on the wire.

As for your remote trigger issue for the radio, perhaps there is something wrong with the module? I used a Metra GMOS module and it works great. No experience with the Schosche stuff...

I used this Trim kit and it looks great IMO. Metra Part # 95-2009 | GM Suzuki Dash kit | Metra Online

my only problem with tapping in somewhere is that i havent found anythiing that is fused and uses the delayed accessory system where you can sit and use the windows n radio n stuff with key out and doors closed for a short time the fuses are all constant power for the most part or are powered with ign in run or on only and not accy

I had to cut some of the plastic out from behind the radio to get it to sit back flush, and then the dash kit goes around the radio but behind the factory plastic so it just fills in the gaps.

as for flush mount i dont see it happening as i cut out as much as i felt safe doing so in the back of the stereo opening..i cut anymore and ill be going thru my dash vent'* duct. the stereo hits on the ribbon connector and adapter and the ribbon is so short i cannot move it anywhere else as it is glued to another ribbon that is tight to the duct work behind radio
