Default Brand Suggestions for pricing

I'm trying to price a system for my 93 SE
i want one with big speakers behind the back seat and stock size every where else
If you havent noticed by my above description, I havent the faintest about car audio... I can basically do install only.. have never designed a system so i dont know what all i need

here'* what i think i want so far
15" or bigger subs
18ga. wire
1500+ watt amp

i think im going to need a pre amp and amp, but im not sure, im trying to go from my pc, to be installed in the car, to the car'* speakers

What brands and sizes should i go with?
i think locally i can get audiobahn and pioneer, but i will go internet if i need to

well lets see....do you want hard hitting bass? or nice clean sounding bass?
for the deep hitting subs id go with a pair of 12" subs (single in my case) and a good high power (500Watts to each sub) = 500x2 watt amp atleast.
18ga. wire is OUT of the question.... that is so thin you wouldnt get hardly any power from your amp to your subs. go with Atleast 8ga. wiring from the amp to the subs.
your also going to need a decent amp install kit. go with 4ga. wiring...Scosche makes a decent one that can be found at walmart for $25 and it is a 4ga. kit
Sorry cant help you out when it comes to running your PC through your system....ive never tried it.

Heres what ive got at the moment... rockford fosgate deck ($170 Ebay) Kicker600 Watt amp ($280 Ebay) single 12" JL audio sub ($100) some MTX 3way 6x9'* ($100)
Kicker R13 tweeters ($75) and the amp wiring kit by scosche ($25). all speakers soon to be upgraded to kicker'* new 2003 line up when cash comes available :P my system i have now is pretty decent, and it will turn peoples heads when coming down the block...
All of this is currently in a Taurus ive been driving while my car is in the shop getting a motor rebuild

I'd say go to a 2 gauge wire, if you ever to change that setup in the future for more power it will save you the trouble of replacing wire. A 15" is huge, that monster will add a lot of weight, add on a box and amp and your looking at lower back pain if you ever need to move it. Two twelves will push a lot of air and sound better than one fifteen IMO.
I'd say go with Audiobahn subs and Pioneer speakers, if you plan on buying locally.

i basically want the 15" or bigger to beat my gf'*, she'* got a 15" in her accord...
i was figuring two subs because the trunk of the 93 has that pass through in the middle

is there a way to get nice sounding music and that window shaking bass, i listen to alot of 70'* rock and newer rap, so i would guess i would need a way to switch it around...

It'* easy to accomadate both those types of music. Buy a deck that has customizable equalizer settings so you can program one for heavy bass for the rap and other settings for the rock. As for the wanting to beat your GF, who cares,I can guarantee if you get two properly amped 12'* you will blow the 15 out of the water.

I would go with 15 wise .... How about 2 15" Solobaric Kicker'* + a nice singal channel amp also from kicker. THen you go with a cerwin vega interior speaker set. Which includes door speaks , rear deck speaks, and dash or a-pillar mounted tweets. My friend has this exact system and hit 156 dbs at the local Db drag. But you should have a few Benjermains sitting around in your wallet...

Your budget will determine what you can get. If you really want a 15" sub, get an Adire brahma: http://www.adireaudio.com/mobile_aud...hma_series.htm
These beasties are mean and sound incredible. Actually the 10" with about 700w -1000w rms would probably smoke your gf'* setup. As for heads Clarion and Alpine are the ones I lean towards. Speakers, Dynaudio of course. Arc audio or Hifonics amps.
And last but not least some audicontrol for all your eq and crossover needs. If this is a bit pricey let me know. Audio is a bit of an obsession for me, and yes you could get killer sound for <$1500.
