hhahahahaha
you have total of 6, you forgot the tweeters lol
your sound system is very similar to my grand prix.. and installing a HU is even easier now.. you dont need a special harness just a 10 dollar one from ebay and itll get everything working, trust me having the stock AMP is only there to make it more complicated

anywho, even without factory amp you will hear much better sound out of the stock speakers with an after market HU. if you want a good sound system start with replacing your HU and then go on from there... thats what i recommend

Check Crutchfield.com They are the largest online stereo marketplace and were voted #1 in customer satisfaction out of every online market place that exists. Just a suggestion.

Get a High quality set of 6x9'*. There are options. 2way, 3 way, 4way or 5way. There in no need for 5way! STAY AWAY FROM SONY! they are junk. Stay with Alpine, Kicker, Diamond, ect.
U gotta be a little more particular about the fronts since they are components. make sure the included Xover is high quality and the frequency range are in your liking. Infinity makes nice sets. Stay away from foam surrounds, Rubber last longer and are more accurate.
And like i've always said.. ANY after market HU will sound way better than stock. I always run Pioneer HU'* but that'* just my preference.

I've replaced my entire system in my 95 SSE and I had an eight speaker system. It wasn't Bose or monsoon either. I've replaced the sound on every car I've owned and have used the same Sony HU every time. I've never had trouble with it. I've got almost a pure infinity system though. Just my 2 cents

They are called Sony XPLODE for a reason. LOL. I like Pioneer because of the high RMS wattage, clean/clear/powerful mosfet power. great features and tunability. And best of all easy to use and navigate threw. And play everything. Weather its supper scratched cd or while driving down a really bumpy road.
U can get a fully loaded Pioneer cd/mp3,wma, aux, hd radio player with 3 sets of RCA'*, LCD display, flipdown face, 22w rms and 50w max, ect ect. for about $250!
AND ITS EASY TO USE! lol
and they last forever
