2000+ remote line in trunk, if you have Keyless entry
Alright this has been a big thing for us 00+ guys....well I was looking in my service manual and found that the little black box that hangs from the top of the trunk (see picture below) I forget the name of it, but it controls the keyless entry. it has two plugs one little, one big. the little one has a solid pink wire and solid black wire, the Pink one is Pos and the black is neg. these are a switched power source. gives you anywhere from 13.5 volts to 14.25 volts. Look at the picture for what I am talking about and also notice the Whelen black box I have mounted in my trunk, its my Air Horn / PA system which I have hooked up to the above wires I am referring to. now I am not sure but what ever is hooked to this power source probably does get a little bit of power everytime the remote is pressed for locking or unlocking, but that shouldn't be a big deal. its a power source that is switched on and off by the ignition. I've had this setup now for about a month and have not noticed any changes if my vehicle. volt meter stays the same due to my item powered draws only 8 amps at 100watts, but it should be any different than usin a remote line from a HU. I hope this helps you guys and if you have any questions or concerns with this please ask away!

This pink punches down to the bundle behind the driver rear seat
it has no power on my trim level....
Stock delco audio
But I (think) I have keyless entry <duh>
That box is where I planned on pullin' power but none for me
(box is "rear integration unit") so this beggs the question
1- What is the big box below with the fuse and 2 female
& 1 male molex connectors!???
2 - what did the plastic housing hold on the passenger side
------- Don't have that on my base model
3 - (the real question) does your hu have CD changer controls
- OR does your ride have an amped factory radio?
Anyway my diagrams show this line as 12v and I was VERY
peeved that it was dead.... and I had to pull more wire for
a 12v switched line.....
So I'm really wanting to know your trim level and why
you have life there and I do not... Wondering if this
is fed from the lighter circuit (my front lighters are dead)
or if this is fed from the ribbon "12v switched" line or a
seperate run....
it has no power on my trim level....

A. did you test this pink line with the car on?? ACC or started??? thats the only time it has power.
B. I have a SE model with SLE items
ok to answer your questions....
1. that is my whelen Air horn/pa system.
2. that is where the factory amp would be if i had one
3. no my HU does not have any CD changer controllers.
its just the keyless entry box. yours should work.
