I did cut the brown loop, but I never did tape it up since it didn't work anyway. I returned the unit, but the website gave me store credit instead of a refund and another GMOS-09 has been out of stock ever since. I'm going to got with the PAC C2R-GM32R and see how it works. I think I would have liked the GMOS-09 better, but I'm tied of waiting.

Finally got the head unit installed today. The steering wheel remote gave me some fits on programming, and the Scosche GM1583B head unit mount needs some minor modifications for a perfect fit, but it works for now and I'll adjust the mount soon. I cut the wire that Sam pointed out and it'* working great. The only problem I have is that it'* too loud, there isn't a gain adjustment for the monsoon amp, so I may have to change the amp sooner than I expected.

This thread got me curious...

I used a similar module during my install, but I believe mine is made by PAC. Sometimes when I open the door with the key out, the module will not kill the remote signal and I will have to turn the car back to ACC and off again to kill it. I have also heard of other cars with the same module doing the same thing every once in a while.

Have you guys using the Axxess module ever run into this?

Brent, sorry im confused, which harness did you end up using? PAC or Metra?
if PAC theres not much you can do i think, but if you're running the Metra theres a little screw on the side that you can use to adjust how loud you want it, just turn it down a bit and it will be fine, i had the same problem.

Tom, i dont have that problem, only problem i have with mine is sometimes after removing the key with the door opened, the chimes (key left in ignition with door open chimes) dont stop until i put they key in and then remove it, no turning required. other than that the GMOS is perfect
