Most any DDin unit will be more than your avergae HU. I would advise against Panasonic as they have left the building with regards to 12v. They are no longer making products for the aftermarket. If you are adding amplifiers you can go about it two ways now, which I don't recommend running the RCA'* unless you have the amps ready to go or later. tearing apart the interior just to run them is silly unless they are ready to be installed. Also make sure you go as high end as you can afford here. The better the shielding the better the music. Eclipse makes some nice HU'* and this is where they have always shined but $ for $ Kenwood and JVC will be the better bets along with Alpine.

Look at this "great" (being sarcastic) double din install job...
There is about 1/4 inch showing on each side...
This is why I dread changing the stock deck...

Going with a pioneer avic f900bt in my 02 ssei with alpine pdx amps, alpine r-type component for the front, *-type for the rear doors and deck and DD 6.5 long tube subs in the trunk. Should be great. Will be adding a pc in the trunk with HP Tuners installed. The composite vid on on the HU and wireless keyboard and mouse from Gyration will allow for tuning and a very cool affect.
