1992 Amp Power Wire Through Firewall
Anyone know how to run a power wire through the firewall?
I have indeed find another thread on this site about how to do that, but the reply was in the form or a link that no longer works.
Moved to Audio section to get better exposure <----Toddster

Hey Cody,
We have a few great audio gearheads that will chime in as they can.
But as far as I know from past experience there is room to run a power wire through the same opening as the steering wheel shaft.

I wouldn't advise running any "power wire" through/next/wrapped around any moving parts. Especially a steering column. Hate to see an air bag go off.
Depending on what size you are going to run, you may use the throttle cable grommet holes. If you need something bigger, ie audio amplifiers, then a custom hole would be needed. You can purchase various sized weather proof grommets at most audio specialty stores.

Yeah I should have clarified that one. There is a rubber sleeve that goes around the steering shaft. If you run the wire between the hole in the firewall and that rubber sleeve you will be fine.
Thanks Mike

Without really seeing myself, I guess the only other option would be to drill a new hole and grommet/seal it. What size wire are you trying to run?

Nothing too big. In the future looking to upgrade to 0 AWG, but for now I'm just running a 1200W amp and it only runs through an 8AWG wire. So yeah, nothing too big.

How would I go about finding these people to ask them? Obviously, I'm a bit new to this forum, and I'm not quite familiar with the features and layout yet.
