Silverstars burn out on the 2000+ Bonnevilles
I've had so many problem with lights on my 01 its not even funny.
Of course the rear side markers died within the first month. But this happens to everyones car I think.
I bought a set of silverstars a few months ago, 3 weeks ago the first one died, and now the second one died last night.
I went and got a pack of silverstar ultras and will see if they make any difference.
I ran the same set of silverstars in 3 different cars for 4 years and they were still good when I sold my 98 SSEi. I'm convinced there is something with the reflector piece near the bulb in the 00+ cars that heats them up too much.

There was another thread recently where this was touched upon. I use them in my GXP and did in my SE as well. I find they burn out quite frequently. I've only had my GXP a little over a year and I'm on my third set. I tried the Ultra'* but didn't find a great deal of improvement. Most places here don't stock the Ultra'* anymore. The one nice thing is predictability. If one goes, you know the other isn't far behind.
A friend of mine with a VW has told me of similar experiences.

My signal bulbs are going on a year. My high beams actually came over from my 94SE, but they don't get used tooo much so I'm not surprised they lasted that long. When i was running modded 9005'* in my low beams i would go through maybe two sets a year so i switched back to the 9006'* in my low beams.

I know all the discussion around SS bulbs on this board but.... I bought my 9005 and 9006 bulbs about two years ago off e-bay. They're still going strong {knocks wood}. I bought my 880 bulbs last March at Autozone and no problems.... {knocks wood again}
