Window works sometimes - and another question
Guys, got into my car last week and wanted to put the windows down. The passenger side front would not go down. Tried both switches - nothing. Tried it a few times on the way home - nothing.
Yesterday on my way to work, it worked fine - up & down. Then on my way home it would not work again and still will not work. But it is up and not rattling...
Anyone know what this one might be? Also, is it true that many other types of cars have window regulator issues? That'* what the guy at the dealership told me...

Josh, I would go into the door, pull the connectors off the front passenger door control module, then reconnect. While you have the connectors apart, do a visual for any corrosion. I assume that the power locks & power mirror in the front passenger door are operational. I had a strange problem a few months ago with my front passenger door. Nothing in the door was powered up for a whole day, the next day I went to investigate, everything was working and has worked ever since. Go figure, it'* FM!

Another quick check to try is this: Get into the car, turn ignition on (engine off, radio off, and be in a quiet location). Operate the driver door switch for the front passenger door to the "raise" position. You should hear a faint click in the front passenger door. This is the passenger door module (PDM) closing in power & ground to raise the window. This little test at least establishes that your serial comms from the driver door module (DDM) to the PDM is functioning corectly. Also try this from the local switch on the passenger door, listen for the faint click. This establishes serial comms from the passenger door switch to the PDM. Hope some of this make sense. Like stated above, you may have to go into the passenger door for a looksie.
