Default How to have manual control of headlights

Now that I am DRL 'less. I want to run with only my corners and driving lights during the night time. I know how to turn them off when Im parked, but when I put it in gear they come on. How would I remedy this situation. I have no problem ripping into factory stuff and adding switches, so any advice would help. Cheers "TheKaddyKid"

What comes on? If you turn the twilight sentinel off, then turn the parking lights on (turn signal stalk), then turn the driving lights on, that should be it. Did I get that right? I think thats what you want. : )
Edit: And this is all accomplished at night. (light sensor senses darkness)

If you're DRL'less you shouldn't have lights coming on automatically. Like Mark said, you must have the sentinel on.

The lights are still on when I put it in drive. The twilight sentinel is off, the drl module is removed, and my driving lights are on there own system triggered off of accsy fuse. My car is a Canadian car, would that make any difference?

If it'* nightime then you need to fool your light sensor on the dash. I'm gonna guess you have to put a resistor in place of the sensor.

EDIT: should have been more clear. on top of DRLs' you also have automatic lights via light sensor on the dash. so even though the DRLs' dont work the auto lights still do.

Just turn on the parking lights via the light control stalk. When you do this, the headlights shut off, the parking lights stay on, and you can use them with your driving or foglights.

OK now that you disabled the DRLs' you need to disable the "auto on" lights. I have no idea on our cars. I know the F-body guys cut the wires to the light sensor (on dash)and then solder them together (if you do this you will lose your interior lights). This is exactly why I havent done the DRL delete. Maybe it would consist of pulling another relay, but I am unsure.

I know on my 99 grand am I went to the fuse box under the hood and pulled out two relays then I was able to control the lights. I had lights on during the day but at night I had the ability to turn them off but the ambers stayed on. It was great especially when parked and you wanted the car running.

During the day, with the DRLs disabled, what happens when you press the fog light button? With the relay in, sitting in the sun, if you press the fog light button the headlights are come on.
