Fuel rail - injector
I had to take my fuel rail and injectors off to get to my LIM. I am putting everything back together and I have a question/problem.
In what order do you put the injectors and rail on. The first time I tried... I put the injectors in the LIM and then lowered the rail on, but I wasn't sure if the injectors clip into the rail or anything. I do know that those clips hold the rail and injector together.
It seemed like the rail "popped" off all the injectors when I took it apart, so I wasn't sure if the rail sits on the injectors with clips, or if the injectors clip at all to the inside of the rail.

Put the injectors back on the rail. Apply a small amount of oil on the o-rings on the injectors. Make sure injector bosses are VERY clean.
Lower the whole show into place. You'll feel it "snap" into place. Then you know you've done it right.

The top of the injector has a lip on it. It seems I am pushing awfully hard to get that to "clip" into the rail. Is that how it works?

the clip needs to be off the rail before you push the injector into the hole.
once the injector is in, THEN put the clip on to secure it from coming out.
it is NOT spring loaded or anything like that to let you push the injector on with the clip in place

Correct. You have to push the injector into the rail socket and hold it with some force to seat the o-ring into the area where the 'bell' starts to get tighter at the top of the socket, then push the clip in to hold it up there.
All 6, then do as described above to install the entire rail and 6 injectors as one piece. A couple adjustments here and there, and it should pop right down.
