remote starter install?

remote starter install?
i'm putting a remote starter in a friends bonneville and can not figure out where to tie into the ignition wires. when i took the dash apart to get to the back of the ignition i could not find anything that resembled any ignition wire. the wires apear to run up into the dash toward the instrument cluster. if anyone could help me figure this thing out your help would be greatly appreiated

Dont forget this ignition uses a VATS key. It has a resistor built into it that prevents the car rfom starting if the reisitance is wrong.
I know this does not directly answer your question. As far as I know, no one has had much luck installing an aftermarket remote starter AND keep all the functionality of the factory key fob with all its available programming.
That might be why GM is making remote starters available in late 2003/early 2004 as an option on some of these cars.

And does your key have the little resistor in it? VATS will have to be disabled in order for remote start to work. I don't remember if the 2000-2003 has that.
