Default Factory Radio problem

Ok, so this cool Bose stereo has a glitch. Its more annoying than anything else, but I wonder if anyone else has seen it on theirs. The backlight for the radio display is acting up. The right half is blinking on and off sporadically. The left side is fine.

Any ideas?

Theres some good news and some bad news :(.... the good news first... the lights on these radios are replacable... i assume the radio looks like this... it should if your bonne is 2000 or above.... the bad news is you have to dissassemble part of the radio to do it. GM uses a OK quality Incadescent bulb (three to be exact) that produce a birght light to creat that nice red glow... but as you already know they are on all the time when the car is on at max brightness they get quite hot too this is partly why they burnt out around 50k to 70k miles. You can get the bulbs from CorvetteRadios.com (heres the link) //www.corvetteradios.com/Page7.html they are the one on the top right for 15 bucks... I would recommend sending your radio to this company (corvetteradios.com) for service theyre technicians are great at what they do... I am currently doing mine myself as we speak but i would'nt recommend anyone doing it themselves unless they have a good knowledge of electronics and soldering.. if you solder it wrong you can burnout the faceplate of the stereo. Once im done with my stereo ill send the admins a TECH INFO HOW TO. on how to fix this problem that really pisses me off! I really dont know why GM / Pontiac didnt use some Ultra Birght LEDs, well the incadescent puts out more light but the LEDs last SOOOOO much longer. if ya have any questions let me know.. PM or EMAIL me!
