Is there an aftermarket drain pan with a plug or would a plug be a waste of time?

Sort of. You really need to drop the pan to be able to clean it(the pan) and the magnet thoroughly. Also, you need to replace the filter which is holding back another quart of fluid.

One more thing....when tightening the bolts on the pan, use a torque wrench as to not distort the gasket to prevent leaks. I believe the correct torque is 14 ft/lbs.

great info!! :?: one Q though .. can the front of the car be driven up onto ramps, or will that angle affect the fluid draining? in other words how are you folks lifting your Bonne'* to do this?
