Post Front wheel bearing assembly

Just repaced my LHS front wheel bearing. Canadian Tire did a safety and found a little play in the bearing and of course where looking for work but to their surprise I told them I was going to do the job myself.
So I did the job and was looking for some problems but their were none.
This is what I did.
1. Loosen the wheel nuts and jacked up the car, removed the front wheel.
2. Loosened the large nut 34m/m locked it against the caliper with a large flat bar.
3. Took of the complete caliper which was bolted to the alloy front axle holder
15m/m bolts (2) and hung the caliper up with some nylon string to the front spring.
4. Turned the steering to the left and with a thin 13m/m socket and small extension
4" 3/8 drive took out the top bolt., the two bottom ones came out without the 4"
extension.
5. Pushed the axle out of the front wheel bearing and cleaned everything up,
then installed the new bearing assembly and took care not to damage or pinch
the ABS connector.
6. Fasten everything back together and the job was done also did not forget to
connect the ABS and made sure the wire was free and not rbubbing against the CV.
Was expecting some problem but it was a piece of cake.

I just did my 05 GXP, and was also suprised on how easy it was, the only problem i ran into was the locktite on the three hub bolts, was a P.I.T.A! went back together real well.

Just make sure you use a very good socket 13m/m on the top bolt as they are fairly heavy 10 m/m bolts
about 1/2 inch and make sure the socket is on straight. I used a 13m/m six point impact socket to break it loose.
If you do this you should have no problems.

I picked up a sudden noise last friday night- went with speed- figured had to be wheel bearing- Easter morning I went to town and got one- and picked up a new front engine mount- changed em out in no time and WALLA! noise gone. Pretty simple deal really.

Also, changing out that motor mount made a huge difference. I always knew it was bad but didn't know how bad till I got it off. Bottom bolt was just flopping around in the rubber.
