Hey! I'm back- got another bonny- Q'* inside->
Hey guys, haven't been on here for a long time- for those that may remember, i had the 92 SE with 387k miles on it... Anywho, i had replaced that with a Park Avenue, and still have it, but my wife'* Mazda 626 took a poop and we found an '01 Bonny SE to replace it. She hates how big my PA is, but doesn't mind the bonny at all.
Couple of Q'*:
Its only an SE with cloth seats, but there are heated seat buttons. however, they don't work. pushing the button makes it light up, but the light quickly goes out... Where do i start?
the plastic intake cover seal is leaking. is this an easy fix? any tips?
the rear shocks (air shocks?) one of them is leaking its oil, or lube, or whatever is in it. tought to replace? do i bother with the whole air system, or just put normal shocks in?
i think thats all. it has 116k on it. Anything i need to look for, or may deal with soon?
Thanks a ton for any help. I can't get on here too often, but i'll post when i can.
thanks,
jeff

Are you saying you see coolant around the UIM (upper intake manifold - black plastic intake cover)?
What color coolant is in there?
Oh, and welcome (back) to BC!

seats - this is a common problem with 00+ bonnies.. i believe it roots to a bad element in the heater and requires the heater itself to be removed an either replaced or repaired, if you search you should find some more info
shocks - The air system is integral to the vehicle, they are really easy to replace, and there is no way to get around the air system.
i would suggest replacing both shocks and new mounts as well, we have seen many young failures from the mounts
intake leak - likely your upper intake is cracked, we recommend you replace the upper intake, as well as new lower intake gaskets from GM, and replace your coolant with universal mixes with everything stuff(my personal opinion)
other things to look for:
rear window regulator failures
wheel bearing failures

I don' t think the upper intake is actually cracked- just a little seepage around the gasket.
the rear shocks are easy huh? will my local Napa have what i need?
i found some receipts in the glovebox- aparantly one of the front bearings was replace, a new tie rod end, new brakes...
thanks for your help guys!

If the intake is leaking around the throttle body area, it is likely cracked, and if you ask ANYONE here, they would recommend no matter what to upgrade your upper intake and also replace your lower intake gasket and coolant with universal, or prestone dex-equivalent
