Any problems unique to 2000 models?
Hi guys,
As mentioned in another post, I was looking for an 02-03 SSEi to purchase, but I stumbled across a 2000 SSEi that might be too hard to pass up. It'* got 58K on the clock, looks unmolested, carfax checks out, and is real clean. Don't see a whole lot of them this color, either.
Most of my research has been on the 02-03 so I am aware of the usual issues... but is there anything I should be on the lookout for that would be unique to the 2000? Especially with it being the first year of the new model and all.
I'm a little nervous because with a car this old, there aren't any full coverage warranties available like I could get on the 02+, so I am limited to only something for basic powertrain only (if I even opt for it).
Any advice is appreciated... thanks!

The dark green is a tough to find color. Very unique and looks great when clean.
The 00 didn't have any problems that seemed to plague only that year. It will suffer from all the usual stuff. Window regulators, leaking water deflectors, wheel bearing failure and highway vibration.

I think there was an issue with the hood herpies in some of these models to but its rare and usually only mild in severity. BTW that is an awesome color. Never seen it before on our model. But take it from someone that has had his 00 for almost a year now, if you take care of her she will take care of you. Keep her clean inside and out, and under the hood, keep the oil changed, and if you want give her a couple of mods and you'll have a beast on your hands.

Love the color! Go for it! When I got mine it had 90,000 miles on it and I've had it almost a year. You will probably need to do a few things to her, but you would need to do that with any used car. With that mileage..that'* pretty low for a 9 year old car.

Thanks for the comments, guys.
The deal is done and I brought it home last night... a 150 mile trip from the dealership... and didn't have a single complaint. Feels great to be a Bonneville owner once again.
I can't believe the shape this car is in... other than a missing cig lighter, I couldn't find a single fault with the car. It'* a two-owner car and has been registered in the same area since new. She'* fully loaded, complete with OnStar and the factory CD changer (that still works!). Almost seemed too good to be true so I took it to the local Pontiac dealer to get checked out before I bought it and it turned out that very dealer sold it back in 2002 to the 2nd owner and she'* had it serviced there for the last 7 years, so I got to see what had (or hadn't) been done. Jackpot!
Will spend the next few days getting acquainted with it, but so far it looks to be a good solid ride.

That is too funny. My 03 is missing the cig lighter also. Is there a place cig lighters hide when they get lost?
Love that color. Good to know the owner took care of the Bonneville. That should make your ownership much more enjoyable.
