Default Seat Heater Switches and green connectors under seats...

I just purchased a 2002 SLE and I have found a couple of strange things:

The seat heater switch rockers are present next to the Traction Control button, but they don't feel like they actually have ach underneath them (they kind of free-wheel).

The other thing is that there is a pair of connectors (that mate) with a green housing under each of the seats that were disconnected... what are these?

I was wondering if the connectors were disconnected because the seat heater option was not installed, which would explain the switches not being present behind the rockers.

I just find it strange that they would install rockers for an uninstalled option, and if the connectors under the seat were for seat heaters, if the element was not installed, why would there be a connector coming out of the seat?

Yeah, that is strange. Look at your RPO codes on the spare tire cover to see if there is KA 1 code. It doesn't make sense to have the switches with out the optional heated seats. You can go back to the dealership to find out what the deal is. You may be able to go to a GM dealership where they possibly can print you out a build sheet using your VIN.
