Shaking when turning right?
I have had the vibration problem like many others on this board, and have tried just about everything we know. I gave up trying to solve it, and decided to just live with it. It costs to much to keep replaceing what we think is the problem. Now, when I turn into a street or driveway to the right, my steering wheel and right front tire shakes until I get straight again. We have checked everything we know to check, and can not find the problem. When we jack it up, and check the 3 and 9 as well as the 12 and 6 positions for slack, there is none. We have bought new tires, balanced twice, front end alingned, replaced a tie rod end on driver side, check the hub assemblies, etc. Any suggestions?

What kind of shaking is it, a vibration, or it actually shakes. Is it felt thru the steering wheel like a power steering pulsating.

I can feel it through the steering wheel. If feels like a cvc joint is going bad on the passanger side, but my mechanic said they looked good to him. it'* not a vibration, but more of a wobbleing tire feel in the steering wheel.

So, because it happens when I turn to the right, it is the DRIVERS SIDE cv joint? How can I tell for sure before spending the money to replace it? Is it ok to replace one and not the other? Do you think this could been causing my vibrations at 60-70- mph all along? I will have to have it done somewhere. What can I expect to pay for it, parts and labor? I know this is a lot of questions, but please answer all of them best you can.'Thanks,
Bill

Just an FYI it is perfectly acceptable to replace one cv axle at a time if that is indeed where the problem lies. The same goes for hub assemblies. I have been dealing with this vibration issue as well. However, mine stops shaking when you turn the wheel. It also has no play in it. Recently it seems alot of people are having this problem. Myself, I am waiting for something to go so bad that it is obvious what part is the problem. I just bought new cv axles for both sides and still have the isssue. Wheel hubs are way to expensive to guess at.

Yep, when turning right, while accelerating, I would get a massive vibration. However, if I was turning right, and not accelerating, no vibration. It was the drivers side CV Joint. I suspected due to the fact that while turning right, the weight of the vehicle is being pulled off of the drivers side, allowing any play to be quite excessive.
